Is ouran highschool host club gay

When scholarship high school scholar Haruhi Fujioka starts the new year at the prestigious Ouran Academy, she has no idea what she’ll be getting into. After accidentally stumbling into the unused classroom in which the host club entertains its female clients, she breaks a vase and must join the club to pay off the debt. Haruhi, apparently a natural at hosting, spends the rest of the series keeping up with the club’s hijinks, presenting as a man so that she can continue making money for them, and developing close relationships with the other members of the host club.

By focusing on a group of teenage boys whose primary objective is entertaining their female counterparts, the one-season Ouran High School Host Club, based on the manga of the same label, addresses young female sexual desire in a way that seems encouragingly direct for those of us used to the roundabout moralizing of Twilight and its ilk.

In a self-aware parody of shoujo fiction, the boys all inhabit other “types” (the boy Lolita, the strong and silent one, and the prince, for example), and cater to their clientele by playing up those aspects of their personality. Their willingness t

♡My Ouran Gay Headcannons♡

NOTE: This was supposed to be posted on June 1st, but I may or may not include procrastinated on it. They don't ring me the professional procrastinator for nothing. Also, I sorta slacked off after Mori. So…enjoy? XD

NOTE 2: That took longer than expected

Hello everyone, Admin here. I know I'm not everyone's favourite and you're here for the twins, but be patient. I do own things I wanna say.

So June is Pride Month, and as a gigantic supporter of the LGBTQ+ Community, I will be writing a few fan fictions about it. Like, AU's and such.

But for this blog, I wanna write about the Hosts. Specifically MY Host Club. Yes, I have my own version of the Host Club. Deal with it (I'm joking I love you)

These are also head cannons in a way, since these are my own convictions of these characters (and how I role play them), but I am gonna be hitting some facts in there to just prove my indicate. (Entirely useless but ok)

Kaoru Hitachiin

Sexuality

We will start with Kaoru, since this may or may not already be canon. For Kaoru's sexuality, I honestly consider he is lgbtq+. Now, before anyone get's mad, permit me explain, ok?

It's no secret that I ship KyoKao, and would l

Ouran High School Host Club Is Both a Triumph and Limit to Gender Expression

The popular lovey-dovey comedy anime Ouran High University Host Club has been widely beloved by fans for many years, in part due to its groundbreaking treatment of LGBTQ+ topics. With the show being released in 2006, and its manga counterpart in 2003, the writing is surprisingly progressive in its treatment of characters’ identities. Though sometimes played off as jokes, the series’ portrayals of cross-dressing and same-sex kissing, among other examples, made it stand out to viewers.

However, despite these achievements, Ouran also falls victim to certain stereotypes that potentially undo its good qualities in other moments. The franchise is making its way back into the headlines with an upcoming live move musical reboot. Before its premiere, many longtime fans and newcomers may want to (re)watch the anime, and it’s important to scrutinize both how Ouran succeeds and possibly fails in its lgbtq+ representation.

Ouran High School Host Club's Sketchy BL Representation Went Largely Unnoticed

It's been more than a decade since the discharge of Ouran Tall School Host Club -- and at present, it remains a classic favorite for many fans. Aside from organism an iconic series in the shojo and reverse harem genre, Ouran Elevated School Host Club’s takes on Gay representation were way ahead of its time. The series’ protagonist, Haruhi Fujioka, is genderfluid while her father is a queer queenly queen. However, Queer representation throughout the series wasn’t always perfect. Some of these instances were passed off as jokes, harmful stereotypes or simply place in the story for comedic value.

While Ouran High Institution Host Club may have elicited a “kiss, kiss, collapse in love” mood from fans regarding the series as a whole, one aspect of the LGBTQ+ representation in the series was definitely a lose -- the boys love representation. Let’s take a watch at the problematic “forbidden brotherly love” trope of the Hitachiin twins, Hikaru and Kaoru.
