Nintendo removes controversial “gay conversion” scene in Fire Emblem: Fates
Nintendo has altered a controversial scene for the western version of Fire Emblem: Fates, a 3DS RPG originally released in Japan last year. The scene features a gay ethics who has her drink spiked by a male protagonist.
In the Japanese version, players are qualified to bond two characters together in battle, which can result in marriage. A gay female character, Soleil, is shown to own difficulty talking to other women, so a male protagonist secretly spikes her drink with a "magic powder" to make women emerge as men and men appear as women.
Once the magic wears off, Soleil is then attracted to the male protagonist and ends up proposing. She says that she fell in adore with the female version of him but now loves him as a male.

Romance Options in Fire Emblem Fates
This knowledge was submitted via email (two separate people). We have included the links we were provided, but if you have additional details please let us know.
In Fire Emblem Fates, players can make a male or female avatar. There are two NPCs available for romance options by either gender: Niles and Rhajat.
According to this site, marrying either with a same-sex avatar can lead the player to permanently lose out on one or two children. Also Rhajat is not automatically unlocked in the game and hence is missable.
