The 'Bridgerton' Cast Members' Love Lives Are Even More Engaging IRL
It's the series that's no stranger to a stellar love story. In fact, since its debut in 2020, Bridgerton has given its legion of fans love story after love story, all of which have made us cry, laugh and swoon (but maybe not always in that order).

Openly Gay ‘Bridgerton’ Star Golda Rosheuvel Was Told by a Woman loving woman Director to Stay in the Closet
When openly gay “Bridgerton” celestial body Golda Rosheuvel —who plays the wigtastic gossip-loving Queen Charlotte on the Netflix series — was starting her acting career, she was told by a lesbian director that she should stay in the closet.
“We were talking about being out and pleased and representation and whether I should say I was gay in interviews,” Rosheuvel tells me on this week’s episode of the “Just for Variety” podcast. “And it was an absolute no: ‘You absolutely shouldn’t do that. It could or it would ruin your career as an actor.’ I would rather lose a job than not be true to who I am. I’d rather not work in an industry that doesn’t accept me. …It just wasn’t how I was raised. And then her being out as a female director, as a lesbian director, I was like, ‘I don’t understand this advice.’ It blew my mind.”
Rosheuvel, who was known mostly as a theater thespian in the U.K. before “Bridgerton” gave her celebrity a royal boost, wil

Who is Luke dating?
Luke, 35, is reportedly dating Harriet Cains, who portrays Philipa Featherington in the show. The pair were photographed looking loved-up at the Vanity Fair Rising Stars party in January 2024.
While the photos could still offer that the pair are just fine friends, Harriet also fuelled the reports in 2021 after sharing a snap of Luke’s meet surrounded by heart emojis, commenting: “My favourite Luke soz @lukenewtonuk."
Luke previously opened up about his sexuality in an interview with Hour Out. Speaking about playing a lgbtq+ character in A Little Life’s act adaptation, he said: “Why do you have to place the record straight? Let people ponder what they hope to think… It’s a complicated debate. There’s value in the authenticity [of havin
