According to Jeff Mauro's Facebook page, then-10-year-old Lorenzo was jogging in gym class when his femur snapped in two.

Jeff's update read: "Turns out, he had a cyst on his bone that made the femur feeble which caused one little step to turn into 3 days of pain, surgery & restless hospital nights."

Jeff reassured his fans that Lorenzo would be okay, saying that his femur was now reinforced with plates and screws and that he was existence released from the hospital.

He also said that his pathology was polish, meaning that the cyst on the bone wasn't cancer.

Judy Mauro, age 69, passed away on May 22, 2024, in Fort Pierce, FL. Born on January 3, 1955, in Hartford, CT, Judy was a beloved Art History Teacher at Lincoln Park Academy from 1991 to 2016.

Judy was the most caring and generous person you could ever convene . She had a radiant personality that could light up any room, and her selfless character shone through in everything she did.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dale Mauro; dedicated children, Nicole Ashley and Brian Mauro, and their spouses Gillian Mauro and Josh Ashley; adored brother, Richard Joaquim; and adored grandchildren, James, Jordyn, and Jase Ashley.

Judy was preceded in death by her father, Walter Joaquim; her mother, Mary Joaquim; her brother, Michael Joaquim; and her son, Jeff Mauro.

A Celebration of Being in honor of Judy will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 3 PM, located at Westside Church in Fort Pierce, FL. Haisley Funeral Home in Fort Pierce is assisting with the arrangements.

Judy’s kindness, dedication to her students, and unwavering admire for her family will always be remembered and adored by all who were fortunate enough to have recognizable her.
